OUR HISTORY

TheSocietyofHispanicProfessionalEngineerschapterattheUniversityofCentralFloridawasfoundedin1988.OurchapterstartedtoprovidesupportforminoritieswithintheUCFCollegeofEngineeringandComputerScience,offeringasafespaceforsocial,professional,andacademicgrowthwithintheuniversity.Overtheyears,wehaveevolvedintooneofthelargestSTEMstudent-runorganizationsatUCF,continuouslyexpandingsinceourinception.Ourjourneyhasbeenmarkedbysignificantmilestonesincluding,SHPENationalBlueChipAwardin2018,2021-2022BestAcademicOrganizationofUCF,BestAttendance2021forRLDC5&7,andRegionalOutstandingChapterRegion7in2017.SHPEUCFpioneeredthefirstSHPEChapterappandwasthefirstSHPEchaptertoholdanIndustryBBQ.SHPEUCFhasalwaysheldhighstandardsforourProfessionalDevelopmentandService,andbeguntohelpmemberswithTechnicalDevelopmentaswell.
