The Regional Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) is held every year by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). The conference is an opportunity for engineering students develop and improve their pre-college outreach programs and improve the infrastructure of SHPE student chapters. Student leaders learn how to interact and network with SHPE’s corporate supporters.
SHPE stages regional leadership development conferences on a yearly basis for the leadership of the SHPE student chapters to improve their organizational, managerial, and technical skills. This year’s conference theme, “LIT – Leading Innovators of Tomorrow”, directly correlates with the new shift of demand for Hispanic professionals in corporate America.
This upcoming year Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is region 7 host. The ERAU SHPE chapter is coordinating undergraduate, graduate, professional, and pre-college tracks during the conference. Several engineering companies in Daytona Beach, FL and around the United States are either sponsors and/or also participating in the culminating career fair.
